In 2020, WHMD Parks and Recreation came up with a plan to build a disc golf course along the District’s existing network of trails.

By July, the course was a reality. A 9-hole beginner course, it features cement tee-off pads and begins across the street from Horseshoe Park. Holes 1-8 are Par 3, and Hole 9 is Par 4.

We inaugurated the park with a Disc Golf Tournament that drew players from across not only Woodmen Hills but the region.

The course is free to the Woodmen Hills Community, and our Fall Disc Golf League will launch in September.

If you’ve never tried Disc Golf, now’s the time! It’s fun for the whole family and the perfect sport for social distancing.

Sponsorships for holes are still available! The cost is $110 per sign. Contact Parks and Rec Director Jedd Sims at 719-495-2009 for more information.
